Mike Pena (President)
Hello! I am Michael A. Pena, and I moved to Placitas, New Mexico in September of 2020 with my wife Elizabeth ‘Liz’.
After living in Austin, Texas for well over 20 years we felt it was time to look into the possibility of living in a place that we had enjoyed visiting over the last decades. Landing in Placitas is perhaps a ‘dream come true’ for both of us and we sincerely hope to be here for many years to come.
‘The Great Outdoors!’ Trail Running, Hiking, Camping, or just adventuring… who can ask for more?
Initially moving into our home at 13 Las Huertas Rd., I went straight to our POA board to offer any help that might be needed. I served as the Architectural Chair for a period and had the opportunity to meet many of our neighbors. I found that we have common vision and similar ideas about what we like about the North Ranchos de Placitas and would like to serve and help in bringing our community together on what matters most to you.
As a Wireless Industry professional who retired from the City of Austin, Tx., I am currently employed by L3Harris as a contractor for the United States Dept. of Defense, with plans to fully retire in the next couple of years. I’ve enjoyed a lifetime employing the technology & tools that serve to protect our communities. I believe that my years of experience in operations management and in facilitating collaborative platform with a driven focus on learning from each other on the things that matter to you, will make a difference. Let’s do this together!
Gayle Reinhart (Treasurer)
I bring proven leadership skills from managing teams of up to 150 members and excel in enhancing communication and delivering results. I’m committed to fostering a transparent and well-connected community. I’m eager to contribute my experience and dedication to our POA board.
Winnie Maggiore (Secretary)
Winnie Maggiore has lived in Placitas since 1969 and in North Ranchos since 1984. She was one of the founding mothers of the Placitas Fire Brigade in 1973 and served as Assistant Chief until 1992. Her first career was as a paramedic and firefighter in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County. She graduated from UNM School of Law in 1992 and spent the next 30 years representing health care providers and law enforcement officers. She recently retired but continues to teach EMS legal issues to physicians and EMS personnel.
Armon McPherson (Alternate 1)
Moved to Placitas September 2001. Retired from Sandia Labs April 2017. Hobbies include reading, surfing the internet for interesting topics, and gardening.
